US 285 CLOSED - Use Detour Route
Monday, September 16 through Thursday, September 19, US 285 will be CLOSED between US 285/CO 9 and US 285/US 24 (Antero Junction) for paving. Local traffic will be allowed access.

Detour Hours:
6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday
Detour Route:
Southbound US 285: CO 9 South to US 24 West to US 285
Northbound US 285: US 24 East to CO 9 North to US 285


US 285 Lane Restrictions
On Tuesday, Sept. 17 and Friday, Sept. 20 there will be daytime single lane restrictions on US 285 for paving.

6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17
Work between milepost 185 - 187 (approximately 2 miles north of Fairplay)
6:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20
Work between milepost 175 - 178 (approximately 7 miles south of Fairplay)

Monday, September 23 through Thursday, September 26, US 285 will be CLOSED between US 285/CO 9 and US 285/US 24 (Antero Junction) for paving, striping, shouldering work, and seeding. Local traffic will be allowed access.

6:15 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday
Detour Route:
Southbound US 285: CO 9 South to US 24 West to US 285
Northbound US 285: US 24 East to CO 9 North to US 285

Motorists will experience mobile lane restrictions for striping, shouldering work, and seeding.

Daytime Northbound Right Lane on US 285 (mile post 175-178) for seeding.
6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Monday, September 30 through Thursday, October 3
6:30 a.m. - Noon, Friday, October 4

Daytime Shoulder Work throughout US 285 Project (mile post 170-191)

Drivers: Please Pay Attention & Slow Down

• Pay close attention when driving near the US 285 Resurfacing Project.
• Speed reduction down to 40 mph in construction zone during the duration of the project.
• Slow down, observe speed limits, and avoid distractions.
• Construction will take place during 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and sunrise to Noon, Friday.
• Alternative routes are suggested.

Construction schedules are subject to change based on weather/unforeseen circumstances and schedule changes.

Project Information
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has initiated a 20-mile resurfacing and 3-mile widening (passing lanes) project located north and south of Fairplay, Colo. designed to improve safety and ride quality. The project includes 3-miles of passing lanes in each direction just south of Fairplay. It also includes culvert extensions, surface improvements and guardrail updates.

6:30 a.m. - Noon, Friday, October 11
Motorists will experience right lane restrictions for inlaid striping and seeding.

Daytime Right Lane on US 285 north of Fairplay at Red Hill Pass (mile post 185-186)
6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10
6:30 a.m. - Noon, Friday, October 11
Motorists will experience right lane restrictions for inlaid striping and seeding. There will be single alternating lane closures. Expect delays.

Thanks! I've got horse haulers coming up from Phoenix, and they were planning to come up 285 through Fairplay. At least I can let them know what the situation is.
