Wildland firefighting at night is inherently dangerous. Firefighters must plan and prepare to work in the dark

Now 100 firefighters and 30 fire apparatus on scene #deercreekcanyonparkfire

Air resources were not able to attack the fire tonight due to darkness but will be available in the morning

The winds have been pushing it north, but they could shift so don't count on that as a continued direction. Weather for overnight is calling for continued gusty winds, fire crews will remain active on scene tonight.

ICFPD @ICFPD 2m
As the temperature has dropped and humidity has increased fire activity is diminished giving firefighters better conditions to attack the fire #deercreekcanyonparkfire

Firefighters are deployed throughout the White Deer Valley, Deer Creek Mesa and Dampson Road neighborhoods to protect houses
