Reported bomb threat at Starbucks on El Rancho in Evergreen

Please avoid the area around the Starbucks on El Rancho in Evergreen. A bomb has been reported in a vehicle parked at Starbucks, Colorado State Patrol is on scene evacuating as a precaution and blocking traffic. Jeffco Sheriff is en route emergent.

UPDATE: Initial call at 4:40pm suggested there could be possible explosives inside a vehicle in the 1000 block of El Rancho RD in Evergreen. Vehicle owner in custody. Bomb Squad on scene. Pls continue to avoid the area #JeffCo

UPDATE: Bomb Squad has found NOTHING explosive inside the vehicle. Driver, a 61-year-old white male from Evergreen, has been taken into custody & charged w/felony false reporting of an incendiary device. Area reopening to soon #JeffCo

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Evergreen Incident Update

Jefferson County, CO. – At approximately 4:40 p.m. Sunday, August 18, a citizen notified a Colorado State Patrol trooper who was in the Evergreen area about a suspicious vehicle in the 1000 block of El Rancho Road.

The trooper requested the Sheriff’s Office respond to investigate a red Chrysler Sedan that had a note on it saying there was a bomb inside. Approximately 300 feet around the area was evacuated while our Bomb Squad responded and determined that the vehicle did not contain any explosive devices.

The vehicle owner, Michael Longfellow, 61, of Evergreen, was taken into custody on a felony charge of false reporting of an incendiary device. His mugshot is below.
