There was a small fire on the side of 285 by Kennedy gulch. Reported to 911. They were in route already. They will probably get it out fast but will probably slow traffic. It was in the grass and climbing a tree when I passed.

Thank you Thesorensens!

Elk Creek Fire has just extinguished a small (5'x5') fire caused by a lightning strike to a tree at the intersection of Kennedy Gulch Rd and Hwy 285. Crews are still working on scene. Fortunately, the fire remained small and did not spread, due largely to the great mitigation work previously done by the Upper South Platte Partnership!

In case of emergency, please dial 911.
