Per James Richardson: There has been a double shooting in the Blackfoot Road area, lock your doors possible armed suspect at large and expect a reverse 911 call from JCSO.

Deputies responding to 11000 block of Blackfoot Rd in Conifer on report of victim with a gunshot wound. We will post updates here as they become available. Public asked to avoid area.

Staging area is Elk Creek Fire Station 1.

Update to gunshot victim: two victims with gunshot wounds. One non-life threatening; one condition unknown. Both transported. No suspect info at this time. Please avoid area of 11000 block Blackfoot Dr Conifer.

Update: shelter in place issued for residents in proximity of Blackfoot Dr Conifer. Approximately 200 - 300 residences received notification via CodeRed. Anyone in the area unable to go home should go to Safeway. Media staging at Safeway.

Jeffco Sheriff Update: Three suspects involved in shooting. May be on foot. There is a danger to the public. Search underway. Residents in area are to shelter in place or report to Safeway if unable to get home. All others asked to avoid area.

Update on Conifer shooting: Multiple agencies assisting with search and public safety efforts: @CSP_Golden, @ArvadaPolice, @ElkCreekFire, Park County Sheriff, and regional SWAT team. Multiple K9s also involved in search.

Jeffco Sheriff Update on #ConiferShooting: Search continues for three suspects in Conifer area - one white male, two black males. Residents in approximately a 3-mile radius of the shooting scene have been instructed to shelter in place.

Jeffco Sheriff Update on #ConiferShooting: 1 suspect in custody - juvenile male. 2 blk male suspects still at large but not believed to be in Conifer any more. Extra patrols will stay in area. Shelter in place being lifted. No suspect ID’s available at this time. Will update when have new info.

Two Males Shot in Conifer

One Juvenile Taken Into Custody

Jefferson County, CO. – On September 26, 2019, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Jefferson County deputies responded to the 11000 block of Blackfoot Road in Conifer for a report of a shooting.

Once on scene, deputies found two males—a father and son—suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One suspect—a juvenile white male—is in custody. Two black male suspects are still at large but not believed to be in the Conifer area any more.

Investigators are following up on several leads and do not believe this was random.

Investigators are asking anyone with any information about this crime to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line (303) 271-5612 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers (720) 913-STOP (7867) reference case 19-22384.
