The APEX fire is at 16.8 acres and holding. Fire crews will work on the fire tonight and through the night. Still no homes or structures at risk. Thank you to all the agencies assisting! This will be the last update of the night unless something changes.

Our firefighters, working in Division Zulu on the brush fire burning in the foothills west of Golden, near Apex Park in Jefferson County. Fire estimated at 17 acres.

APEX fire update: fire area did not grow over night. Currently no flames or smoke visible. Fire crews attacking hot spots today. Damage to Apex park and trail will be assessed. Park and trail remain closed until further notice.

UPDATE: Apex Park is still closed until further notice after this past weekend's fire that burned 16.8 acres. Thanks to the quick action of our Rangers, first responders, and firefighters no evacuations or injuries were reported. Hotspots remain and are being monitored closely. NOTICE: Apex Park and White Ranch Park (east) will reopen tomorrow, 11/14, following muddy trail conditions and a fire closure. The fire at Apex Park burned 16.8 total acres without any injuries or evacuations. The cause of the fire has not been determined. If you find hotspots or see smoke or flames, PLEASE IMMEDIATELY REPORT TO JEFFCO DISPATCH at 303.980.7300
