From the Park County Sheriff's Office:

Recently there have been several incidents where persons have been impersonating law enforcement officers across Colorado. These individuals have been utilizing vehicles that are similar to legitimate law enforcement agencies with an emergency light on the dashboard . The Patrol Division of the Park County Sheriffs Office utilize only marked patrol vehicles. The Park County Sheriff’s Office does have several unmarked vehicles utilized by Investigations and the Command Staff. Normally, unmarked vehicles do not work traffic, but there can be exceptions when the offender needs to be stopped due to the certain circumstances. If you are stopped by a Park County Sheriff’s Office unmarked vehicle, they will display numerous front and rear emergency lights that have been professionally installed. If you are concerned about the unmarked vehicle attempting to pull you over, you can either call 911, or contact the Park County dispatch center at 719-836-4121 x 5 and verify if a Deputy is attempting to pull you over. If you are unable to receive a cellular phone signal, activate your hazard lights and continue driving in a safe manner until you receive a signal to contact dispatch.
Sheriff Tom McGraw.
