Tree fire on CR 56 southeast of Jefferson, Park County

Per cosmiccowboy55: tree on fire, County Rd 56. Jefferson-Como and Platte Canyon Fire responding. Jefferson-Como requesting latitude/longitude location of the fire, crews en route to determine.

One tree fully involved, about 200 yards off CR 56 and 4 miles down from Hwy 285. Requesting a brush truck from North-West Fire (District 4).

Platte Canyon Fire engine has just turned off of Hwy 285 onto CR 56 en route to the fire. Crews on scene have gotten control of the fire, flames at the top of the tree are out, it's smoldering at the base and roots.

The tree is down and crews are in mop up.

Hot spots are out, fire is contained. Crews will return in the morning to check on it. Command terminated, District 6 returning to the fire station.
