Statewide ban on open fires enacted on August 19, 2020 for 30 days.

As four major wildfires scorch more than 130,000 acres of Colorado, Gov. Jared Polis issued a statewide ban on open fires.
Amid hot weather and a late summer monsoon that failed to appear, many places in Colorado had already issued local bans on campfires and fireworks, and other sources of fire, like smoking on the open.
Given the continued fire risk in the State & the continued strain on government resources due to COVID-19, the Fire Ban Executive Order-ordering the temporary suspension of statute concerning bans on open burning, has been extended for an additional 30 days, to October 7 2020. Read more at

Reminder! Statewide fire restrictions are no longer in effect. Executive Orders (EO) 168 and 190 have expired as of September 30, 2020
Currently, EO 210, is in effect. This EO gives counties additional flexibility to implement fire restrictions outside of traditional high fire danger criteria in statute. It expires on November 4, 2020, unless extended.
