This outage was caused by a tree cut down by a resident. It fell on our line and sparked a small fire. Lines were quickly de-energized, and power was restored once the line was inspected for damage and the fire was no longer a threat to our infrastructure or crews. IREA sincerely thanks the first responders from Elk Creek Fire Department and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, as well as our crews in the field, who all worked together quickly to ensure the fire was contained and power could be safely restored to affected IREA customers as soon as possible.
