From Chief Meteorologist Steve Hamilton:
The "S" Word? Yes, For Some Of The Foothills...
We have significant changes to the weather pattern coming up across Colorado over the next few days. The first strong cold front of Autumn will roll in, bringing good precipitation chances, and much cooler temperatures, especially Wednesday and Thursday. There is much cooler air behind the front, so it will definitely feel a lot more like fall. As far as precipitation, showers and thunderstorms look likely for most areas through at least early Thursday. We may get a rain/snow mix in Fairplay, Alma, Como, Jefferson and around Hartsel on Wednesday night into early Thursday. Accumulations should not be a concern, with the surface staying fairly warm, but some slushy spots on the roads will be a possibility. Most areas will just see rain, with an occasional thunderstorm. A few lingering showers are possible through the weekend.
