At Willard Street (near Kenosha Pass) at Mile Point 199. Passenger vehicles are required to have mud or snow tires or use chains or alternative traction devices or be a four wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle.

Commercial vehicle chain law
US 285 southbound/northbound between Frontage Road and Willard Street (2 miles north of the Kenosha Pass area) from Mile Point 215 to Mile Point 199. Chains or alternative traction devices required for all commercial motor vehicles including buses and vans of 16 or more passenger capacity.
