From Evergreen Fire/Rescue 1 hr ago
EFR has been very busy since midnight with two house fires. The first was off Upper Bear Creek. The homeowner was able to safely escape but unfortunately the home was fully engulfed when crews arrived. A BIG THANK YOU to: 1. The neighbors who helped escort and shuttle firefighters on ATVs. 2. Jefferson County Sheriff's Office deputies who helped alter the neighbors and move hose up the snow covered and narrow road. 3. Elk Creek Fire Department and Foothills Fire & Rescue for bringing additional resources. The second was a home on Snowshoe Trail. The homeowner was also able to safely leave and call 911. Crews were able to contain to a small area but there was smoke damage on the second floor.
Both fires are out at this time. Investigation and crews will be in the area of Upper Bear Creek for the rest of the day.
