...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR THE FOOTHILLS AND WESTERN PORTIONS OF METROPOLITAN DENVER...

.A cold front will increase snow rates this afternoon and evening hours, especially across the foothills of Boulder, Jefferson, and Douglas Counties. Snowfall amounts increase significantly to the south and west in the advisory area. Larimer County may just see an inch or two, but up to 8 inches with locally higher amounts are expected in the foothills of Jefferson County and nearby locations. The snow will make for a hazardous evening commute in the west sides of metro Denver and in the Boulder area, and the I-70/US-285 corridor westward from Denver.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO MIDNIGHT MST TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 3-8 inches in the southwest foothills. 1-3" in the Larimer County foothills.

* WHERE...The Northern Front Range Foothills, The Southern Front Range Foothills, and Boulder and the western suburbs of Denver.

* WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to Midnight MST tonight.

* IMPACTS...Roads will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions during Friday evening commute, especially west of Denver along the US-285 and I-70 corridors.
