• I-70 between C-470 (Mount Vernon Canyon) and CO 103 (Idaho Springs) from Mile Point 259 to 241.
• I-70 between Exit 221: Bakerville (4 miles west of Silver Plume) and CO 9 (Silverthorne) from Mile Point 221 to 205.

I-70 WB closed at C470 until further notice, alternative routes recommended if you absolutely can't delay traveling west.

Crews reporting at least two more hours to clear all of the stuck cars, trucks, semi's... Still cannot get the plows thru.

Snowing more than one inch per hour. Extremely hard for @ColoradoDOT to keep up with that snowfall as well as clear the current hazards in the road. Doing the best they can considering the conditions. Will reevaluate opening at 11:00pm.

UPDATE: Troopers, multiple tow carriers and @ColoradoDOT hard at work to get westbound I-70 cleared into the mountains. NO PROMISES, but pushing for at least one lane around 9:00 pm.
Do not attempt a trip west without proper equipment !!
Fines can exceed $1,000.
