Stage 1 Fire Restrictions rescinded for Clear Creek County
Recent snowfall has decreased fire danger.
Georgetown, Colo. - On Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., the Temporary Stage 1 Fire Restrictions with NO SHOOTING that were in place for unincorporated areas of Clear Creek County have been rescinded. The recent snowfall we have received has significantly decreased the wildland fire danger in Clear Creek County; therefore, the Clear Creek County Sheriff has determined the weather is such that fire restrictions are no longer necessary in unincorporated Clear Creek County. We will continue to monitor conditions and place restrictions as they are needed. We continue to ask the public to remain diligent and use caution when dealing with open fires. Residents are also reminded that there are permit requirements in place for slash burning and broadcast burns, also known as prescribed fires.
Permits are available online at:
www.clearcreekfire.com/burn-permit-information-
and-application/ or at the Clear Creek Fire Authority, located at 681 County Road 308, Dumont, Colorado. Campfires are now allowed and do not require a permit. For current fire and shooting restrictions for United States Forest Service properties, please visit the following website:
