June 6, 2022 - South/Eastern Colorado - US 285 Bridge replacement over South Fork of South Platte to start June 13 after winter shutdown. US 285 road closure to begin July 11.
Park County — The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin bridge replacement operations on US 285 over South Fork of South Platte between Fairplay and Antero Junction after the winter shutdown of the project. The project began in late July 2021 and is expected to be completed Fall 2022.
Work will require a three month full closure on US 285 with an offsite detour utilizing CO 9 and US 24. The closure will begin July 11 and will remain closed until mid-October.
Work consists of bridge replacement as well as relieving wetland impacts and redirecting streams.
Additionally, the bridge maintenance consists of bridge rail and guardrail replacement, as well as roadway reconstruction for the bridge approach.
This project will benefit motorists by making the bridge safer and improving the driving experience. Zak Dirt Inc. is the contractor for this project.
