Accident Hwy 285 at MM 230 between Shaffer’s Crossing & Pine Junction

Elk Creek Fire and CSP is en route to a reported accident with unknown injuries at MM 230 between Shaffer’s Crossing and Pine Junction.

Traffic is backing up heading northbound reportedly back to Pine Junction.

One vehicle with moderate damage approximately 50ft off the road down an embankment. Elk Creek Fire is closing one lane northbound in which to work. LE routing traffic.

Evaluating one patient, standing down additional resources.

Emergency crews will be closing both directions of Hwy 285 in order to tow the vehicle up the embankment. Elk Creek Fire has been toned out to provide an engine to block the roadway.

Update 10:41pm: vehicle has been recovered, all lanes re-opened. Command terminated.
