Upcoming Test of the Lookout Alert Emergency Notification System

June 5, 2023

Jefferson County CO – Jefferson County Communications Center Authority (Jeffcom911)will be conducting a test of the“Lookout Alert”public emergency notification system in Jefferson County on June 7that 11:00a.m. Citizens are strongly encouraged to sign up to receive emergency alerts through the website: www.LookoutAlert.co , or download the Jeffcom911 phone app and access the Lookout Alert sign up portal from there.When registering in the Lookout Alert system, citizens can choose how they prefer to receive alerts, by voice phone call, text message, and personal email.

“Now is a great time to sign up to receive emergency alerts” said Jeff Streeter, Jeffcom911 Executive Director. “This is a critical tool we utilize to inform the public of emergency situations, especially as the frequency and severity of hazards have increased over recent years and when every moment counts to save life and property.”Jefferson County will be testing the Lookout Alert system at the same time as Broomfield and Westminster, who also use the Lookout Alert emergency alerting system.
