Hwy 285 is shut down for several hours while they investigate this accident.

Elk Creek Fire is continuing to assist at the accident scene on a two vehicle collision at Hwy 285 and mile marker 234 just north of Spring Road that took place around 620pm. This is a fatality accident. Hwy 285 in this area is currently shut down in both directions.

Three patients were transported to area hospitals, including one adult and two minors. Elk Creek Fire is grateful to Platte Canyon Fire Protection District for their mutual aid at this accident scene.

Per a traveler, the highway was re-opened around 11:30pm.

1 dead in head-on crash on US 285 in Conifer, state patrol seeking witnesses

DENVER (KDVR) — One person was killed in a head-on crash in Conifer that happened Friday night, and now investigators are looking for witnesses. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call CSP dispatch at 303-239-4522 referencing case number 1A243302.
