AVALANCHE WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY...
*WHAT...Heavy snowfall and strong winds are resulting in very dangerous avalance conditions. Avalanches will run naturally and long distances. Avalanches will also be very easy to trigger by people recreating on steep slopes in the backcountry.
*WHERE...
Portions of the Front Range Mountains including the Indian Peaks Wilderness, James Peak Wilderness, and Rocky Mountain National Park.
*WHEN...Saturday evening through Monday evening
*IMPACTS...Large and dangerous avalanches will be very easy to trigger in many places. Avalanches will release naturally.
*PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Travel in backcountry avalanche terrain is not recommended in the mentioned areas. Avoid travel on and under slopes steeper than about 30 degrees. You can find more detailed information at colorado.gov/avalanche
Elevated to critical fire conditions will develop by mid morning Monday and continue through late afternoon. Wind gusts to 60 mph along with humidity levels down to 20 percent will occur.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 216, 238, 239, 240, 241, 243, 245, 246 and 247.
* TIMING...From 7 AM to 5 PM MST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
We have upgraded to a HIGH WIND WARNING for Monday.
Wind gusts up to 60 mph are expected for the eastern plains. Wind gusts up to 75 mph are expected for the foothills.
Gusty winds can blow around unsecured objects, cause power outages & make travel difficult.
