PROJECT NEWS | US 285 resurfacing begins in Park County
Resurfacing treatment work will begin between west of Bailey and Pine Junction on April 28.
WHERE?
Along US 285 for eight miles from west of Bailey (mile point 219.75) to Pine Junction (MP 228.95). The project includes the resurfacing of US 285 and the on- and off-ramps at County Road 72, new guardrail and will add a turn-lane on northbound US 285 onto County Road 64A.
WHAT?
The project will enhance safety by reduce road irregularities through resurfacing. An even road surface improves vehicle control and reduces the risk of losing control, especially in wet conditions. It can also enhance visibility for drivers and decrease wear and tear on a vehicle.
TRAVEL IMPACTS:
Daytime work hours range from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday until June when the work transitions to nighttime hours 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Motorists can expect a single-lane, alternating traffic guided by a pilot car, in either direction for the duration of the project. Speeds will be reduced to 40 MPH in the work zone. Schedule is subject to change during inclement weather.
The map shows the length of the re-paving operation, which goes from west of Bailey to Pine Junction. It also includes the area for the new turn-lane at County Road 64A.
