RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM MDT TUESDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS AND HIGH MOUNTAIN VALLEYS...FIRE WEATHER ZONES 211 THROUGH 214...217...AND 218...
The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT Tuesday.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 211, 212, 213, 214, 217 and 218.
* TIMING...From 11 AM to 8 PM MDT Tuesday.
* WINDS...West 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30-35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 8 percent.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid wildfire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
