Three students have been transported via ambulance in critical condition.

“EVERGREEN, Colo. — At least three students were shot Wednesday afternoon at Evergreen High School, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
St. Anthony's Hospital confirmed to 9NEWS they have three patients from the shooting who are in critical condition.

Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jacki Kelley said the shooting was first reported at 12:34 p.m. Wednesday. The shooting happened on school grounds, but it's not known whether it was inside or outside the school, Kelley said.

She said the sheriff's office doesn't know yet the identification of the shooter or shooters, or where they are.

Jeffco Public Schools said Evergreen High School is on lockdown. The school is being cleared room by room.“

Jeffco Sheriff update 2:30pm:
Three people transported to the hospital from Evergreen High School, all in critical condition. Another update coming shortly.

The shooter is confirmed as one of the patients who was transported.

Evergreen Library:
In response to today’s shooting at Evergreen High School, Evergreen Library will be closed to the public for the remainder of the day to reduce traffic in the area. Library access will still be available to students, parents and first responders as needed.

Our thoughts are with the Evergreen community and those impacted by today’s events.

**Due to the unforeseen extremely serious events that transpired at Evergreen High School this afternoon, the Woodcellar is canceling tonight's 6pm solo music event with Andy Babb. We will remain open, however, for a community support meeting place, if anyone needs a friend or just a hug.**
