At its April 11 meeting, the Platte Canyon School District board of education was presented with a preliminary budget for the 2011-2012 school year that calls for an 8.4 percent reduction in expenditures, to $9,040,000 from $9,869,000 in the 2010-2011 school year, a drop of $829,000.
