As of 5:45 p.m. Sunday, U.S. Forest Service firefighters were continuing to fight the Snyder Creek fire, a wildfire that started Sunday morning and had grown to about 150 acres near the bottom of Kenosha Pass. The wildfire was off County Road 56, also called Lost Park Road, about a mile in from U.S. 285.
Park County Undersheriff Monte Gore said at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday that conditions had definitely improved and that the fire was not contained but was under control. He said that seven structures had been threatened, but none were damaged. Details on The Flume's website at
