U.S. Forest Service firefighters achieved 100 percent containment Wednesday around 8 p.m. on the Snyder Creek fire, which consumed 242 acres southeast of Kenosha Pass.
Ralph Bellah, the fire information officer for the U.S. Forest Service, said a contingent of firefighters will remain in the area in the coming days to monitor the fire and ensure that there aren't any flareups.
