Woodside rezoning vote fails - The Flume

A referendum on a proposed rezoning dealing partly with the the number of horses allowed on lots in units two and four, on the Park County side of the Woodside Park subdivision near Pine Junction, failed in an Oct. 1 vote held internally for property owners in those units. However, there were enough property owner votes to approve the formation of a neighborhood watch group in Woodside units two, three and four.
Although votes cast were 3-1 in favor of the proposed rezoning, which would then have to have been approved through Park County, the covenants of the homeowners association call for approval by more than half of the property owners (as opposed to more than half of those voting) for the referendum to pass. That meant that 97 "yes" votes were needed for the referendum to pass. In the voting, 87 "yes" votes were cast and 27 "no" votes were cast. Details in this week's Flume.
