The Rev. Kizito Osudibia came to St. Mary of the Rockies Catholic Church in July 2009. Osudibia was born in Nigeria and moved to the United States six years ago this month. He spent a year on the East Coast before moving to Colorado Springs, where he lived for three years before coming to St. Mary. He has two brothers and four sisters who all still live in Nigeria. While neither one of his brothers became a priest, one of his nephews is studying at the seminary. Osudibia attended Catholic school as a child in Nigeria and then went on to college, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. He then went to theology school, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in theology. While serving as a pastor in Nigeria, he was also a seminary professor and also taught what is 11th and 12th grade here. Subjects he taught included English language and literature and history.
Osudibia speaks several languages in addition to English, including French, Dutch, German, and his native language of Igbo as well as Yoruba. The question-and-answer feature is in this week's Flume.
