Reminder: this Sunday is our first Adopt-A-Highway 285 Clean-up! We meet at the field by Inter-Canyon Fire Dept (across from Mountain High Church - see the map on Pg 4 of this thread for where on the highway our stretch is if you're not familiar) at 2pm, then work our way up one side of the highway to MM 240, then back down the other side back to our cars. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and water if you can. We'll have bags and vests, but if you can make/bring a poke stick that would be helpful (I'll try to bring a few extras). Kids 15-17 can come too, but must be accompanied by an adult. I'll have chocolate chip cookies to keep us going!

We're going to grill out at MsMAM's afterwards - bring a side dish if you'd like, and/or your favorite adult beverage! We'll supply the burgers and hot dogs.

Yes, we will have to schedule another date - we made it just past the MM241 sign so a little over halfway up one side plus the median was done, and a little bit on the northbound side as well.

What a great group of helpers - thank you so much! We had almost a dozen (a few more showed up after the initial group photo, and some left before we finished at about 5pm). BTW, I counted 177 cigarette butts that I alone picked up. We found several skeletons of animals, both coyote and deer, an interesting...toy...and a fun letter that you can read here in the Ring !
