After reading the Draft of the noise ordinance it DOESN'T look like it's going to do a DAMNED THING for the folks who have to get up at "god thirty" to go to work ... and if it's only going to be ENFORCED by Code Enforcement it will mean that the person/persons complaining or asking for Enforcement to step in will be required to do the following: Have 2 people willing to write out complaints, have a decibel reader, tape recorder and WAIT for at least 90 days for ANYTHING to change..

If you live close enough to your neighbor to complain enough to damand such laws....you live too close.

Perhaps we should be more worried that we are writing laws that make it so people can inspect your homes withou permission or a warrant....now that is a big deal. Today pot inspection, tomorrow gun and fridge inspections.

Also, we pay double up here for homes because we have one the strictest building departments in the rural west, now with restricted building times....you can pay another 10-20%....makes it real appealing to already have a home.

Regulations are the opposite of Culture....and we have a lot of regs, more coming. How many people are really complaining out of 17,000 that we all have to now suffer through your new laws needed because you cannot work it out with your neighbor. I bet most people don't even interview their neighbors before they buy a house.

Not all of us are FORTUNATE enough to live on SEVERAL ACRES.... Perhaps a solution to a NEIGHBOR ISSUE, is if EVERYBODY would hold THEMSELVES accountable for their OWN behavior and NOT FORCE their partying, loud band , screaming and yelling , horn honking on others, Especially if NOT ONE BUT several other neighbors have tried to tone things down..

Maybe then BIG BROTHER wouldn't have to be involved. Do we need MORE GOV'T? HELL NO!!
