Have you joined the "300 Club" yet? A Mountain Resource Community fundraising campaign is underway to raise $30,000 for emergency support services now thru April 30. A typical client request to stay in their home, pay a utility bill, etc. is $300. If you can help "Strike Out" hunger and barriers to homelessness with $300 or any amount, please donate at http://www.mrcco.org ... THANK YOU!

It's almost the end of the first month and they're almost halfway - kudos to our community!

They've done a lot to help out during this fire, and there will be more need because of it, please consider pitching in.

Fire Update from the Mountain Resource Center
Please note...

The Red Cross donation site at West Jeff Middle School no longer needs donations of any kind!

If you have a donation ready to deliver, please drop it by at MRC.

Please help spread the word... at this time No Donations are needed at West Jeff Middle School.

MRC will continue to take gas vouchers, grocery gift cards and food donations at our Food Pantry.

What a wonderful community we have with such kind-hearted neighbors!

Our "$300 Club" donations are really making a difference with not turning families in need away. Thank you to so many who are helping with this!

Now our community is faced with a fire!

As our brave fire fighters and response teams continue to fight the Lower North Fork fire and help safely evacuate our families, friends and animals, MRC is receiving calls from those of you who want to help yet again. We want to keep you up-to-date.

Here's how you can help...

MRC is collecting additional food at our food pantry. Please donate canned goods (meat, fruit, baked beans), pasta, cup of soups, cereal, coffee, milk, eggs, protein bars, juice, microwaveable meals and freeze-dried meals, pet food and also bottled water. Please drop off donations at MRC 9am-5pm Monday - Friday. Call us if you have questions.

From past fire experience we will also need gas and grocery gift cards in $15 - $25 increments, also Walmart and Target type gift cards will be needed by families over the next few weeks. These can also be dropped at MRC or at our Thrift Store. If cash or check donations are easier, by all means we can accept checks and cash also.

So far we have had few specific requests from displaced home owners (which include some of our own staff and volunteers). Other then helping them with a change of clothes. We know that this will also begin in the next few days. So we have a list started with name, phone number, addresses and emails of those of you who can provide: beds, dressers, household goods, transportation, man power, baby items etc. When calls come in from neighbors in need of certain items we can match them up. WE HAVE NO STORAGE for any of these items now. Please do not drop them off. Do give us a call and let us know what you have and if you can transport it to someone.

Thank you!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
