We had over 35 volunteers yesterday, the biggest turnout that I ever remember seeing. This included a number of kids from EHS. We sent a group around the lake to pick up along the shore. Another group started at the spillway below the dam and another group started on the far end of downtown. We had so many that we sent a group to O'Fallon Park as well. We filled dumpsters at O'Fallon, Cactus Jack and the water plant too. We managed to clear up some log jams that were holding a seasons worth of trash.
Afterwards, burgers and beers were enjoyed at The Little Bear courtesy of Evergreen Trout Unlimited.
Thanks to everyone that had a hand in this project. The fish and fisherman as well as the businesses of Downtown Evergreen appreciate your work.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
Fall clean-up on Bear Creek. Meet at the downtown parking lot next to Beau Jo's at 9am. Bring gloves, waders, etc. - whatever you think might be useful to pulling trash out of the stream. Lunch on ETU after cleaning!

About 20+ showed up. We tackled the entire downtown area and a small crew took care of O'Fallon Park. Plus a Boy Scout Troop picked up trash around the lake. The Upper Bear Creek HOA also had their own clean-up above the lake.
Not as much trash this time as back in April. Maybe the fishing ban on Bear Creek and low flows had something to do with it.
Thanks for your help everyone!!!
