Very little moisture in the month of March has set up dangerous fire conditions for the Pike National Forest in Park County.
Mike Hessler, the fire manager for the South Park Ranger District of the Pike National Forest, said some recent rain and snow in early April helped, but the return of warm and dry weather has continued the trend of drier-than-average weather.
“Overall, we’re probably high to very high, as far as fire danger,” he said on April 10.
