Video of last night's meeting, along with the agenda and a rough timeline of when each agenda point was discussed during the video.
Highlights from the meeting:
They are now accepting resumes for interested applicants to fill the recently vacated Board position. The deadline for turning those in is June 7th, and the candidates will be interviewed during the next Board of Director's meeting on June 14th.
They are holding a community forum on May 22nd from 6-8pm at St. Laurence Episcopal Church (additional information below) in order to discuss with the public fire mitigation and evacuation plans and procedures. A representative from the Jeffco Sheriff's office will be there as well. There will be an opportunity for questions and conversations after the presentations, everyone is encouraged to attend.
They are in the process of evaluating the best way forward to update their mapping. They are looking into both an external and internal production of new maps.
They have received new radios which will allow them to communicate with emergency departments down the hill such as West Metro.
The fire chiefs have formed a fire chief council in order to discuss sharing resources and expertise.
Community outreach is going very well. Fire chief Bill McLaughlin is having about 3 meetings/week with various neighborhoods/communities to discuss fire mitigation, evacuations, and answer questions and concerns. If your community hasn't yet met with him, please give him a call!
