The creation of five passing lanes on U.S. 285 in South Park could begin as soon as September.
The passing lanes, three northbound and two southbound, are part of a $7 million project that could see the passing lanes built this year and the paving of those lanes on U.S. 285 from Kenosha Pass to Fairplay next summer, said Bob Wilson, a spokesman for the Colorado Department of Transportation.
