Park County Search and Rescue will be offering a Map and Compass seminar for all persons interested in learning how to use these items for back country travel. Knowing how to use a map and compass can aid greatly in finding your way back to camp or vehicle. These are necessity as a back up for a GPS. By attending this seminar you can learn about a compass, how to read and use a topo map, and map coordinates. We will also present some information about back country travel and safety. Part of the seminar will be inside and then we will be outside for field practical use. By attending you will also meet some of the PCSAR members and see our building and training facilities.
No need to go down the hill to learn this very practical skill.
This will be Saturday June 30 from 9AM to about 3PM-bring your lunch, there is a refrigerator to keep things cold. Bring clothes suitable to be outside.
If you have a compass please bring it with you.
