Fire, other factors considered in insurance rates - Flume

In seeming competition with the Old Testament’s much-afflicted Job, Colorado has suffered from a deluge of catastrophes in recent years, having been hit with, not only wildfires, but wind, hail and flood damages.
According to independent insurance broker Carrie Marsh of Carrie Marsh Insurance in Bailey, insurance companies look at a pattern of catastrophic events and claims for damages in designated territories over a time period in order to calculate rates. Detail in this week's Flume.
