As of the 2010 Census, 57 percent of Park County homes and 74 percent of the population was in a red zone – an area of heightened fire danger – according to a recent I-News Network investigation.
That investigation also determined that in the last 20 years, the population of people living in red zones in Park County has grown by 100 percent.
