Eight people fined for violating burn ban - Flume

Eight people were slapped with $1,015 fines for violating Park County’s Stage II fire restriction, which lasted from June 22 to July 9, but some Park County residents feel that Park County Sheriff Fred Wegener’s hard stance on illegal burning was for show, and that more people got away with burning than were ticketed. And yet the one burning the JUST BARLEY ILLEGAL FIRE was not ticketed and it was glossed over by NONE other than Monte.

And now the Judge says a max of $300 otta do the trick in teaching the fools not to burn or shoot!! what a flipping joke.....

It's probably the best the judge could do, given the preferential treatment some residents were shown. The fined parties could come back with a discrimination suit. The SO seems to have screwed up.
