This group is building an amazing trail system here in Conifer with plans to expand it to reach Evergreen and Bailey so that hikers/bikers/horse riders will rarely have to be on our main roads and highways. They've been working on this project for 6 years now and have brought in over $900,000 in funding to build the trails that are now in existence around Aspen Park and connect Aspen Park to Meyer Ranch Open Space. The next phase is building a trail from the Conifer Marketplace area over to CR 74, cross over to and through the Conifer High School grounds, go through the Journey Church property and over to Flying J Open Space to connect to their trail system. They are also working to join Aspen Park to Conifer Community Park at Beaver Ranch - if you are a homeowner in these areas, or know someone who is, donating part of your property for right-of-way use can get you tax breaks.
If you are interested in seeing how you can help, they are always looking for more volunteers!
They meet every 4th Wednesday of the month at the Conifer High School Public Library conference room from 6-7pm.
