Richard Sonnenberg, one of three former Park County sheriff’s officers charged in connection with the shooting of a beer keg while breaking up an early-April party near Lake George, pleaded no contest to one count of petty offense official misconduct on Sept. 18, and he was sentenced to 20 hours of community service.

The two others, former Corporal Glenn Hardey, who had already been demoted from sergeant at the time of the incident, and former Reserve Deputy Steve Materkowski appeared with their Lakewood-based attorney, Sean Paris, and pleaded not guilty to the charges. Separate jury trials were scheduled for the two men in February.
