Third-quarter building permits in Park County told two stories: First, permits for new buildings were substantially flat versus a year ago while permits for Colorado and the U.S. as a whole soared in the third quarter versus the same quarter a year ago. Second, there was a double-digit rise in total permits in the county, counting not only new-building permits but also permits for garages, roofs, additions, decks and patios.
