Questions abound on potential Tanglewood Reserve purchase

In the wake of the April 25 decision by Park County’s commissioners to approve a letter of intent for the county to purchase the Tanglewood Reserve development at Pine Junction, a number of questions remained unanswered as of May 7.
Among them are whether it would be possible to obtain grants to help finance the purchase, what the final purchase price might be, how much of the $1.5 million that is held by the Park County Land and Water Trust Fund the commissioners would agree to allocate to the purchase, how important any loss of tax revenue would be in figuring the costs and benefits of a purchase by the county, what would be the cost of improvements to the land, if any, and how serious any competing potential buyers are.
Details in this week's Flume.
