Pike and San Isabel National Forests were placed under Stage 1 fire restrictions on Thursday, June 13, following fire restrictions imposed in Park County on June 12 and in Jefferson County on June 11. Barb Timock, spokeswoman for the U.S. Forest Service, called the situation "very serious," and she cited extremely low humidity, high winds, above-normal temperatures and very low fuel moistures.
