The Black Canyon fire, previously referred to as the Lost Park fire and the Lost Creek Wilderness fire, remained at around 10-15 acres as of noon on Tuesday.
The fire is burning in the Black Canyon area in the Pike National Forest. That’s about eight miles due east of Jefferson.
Nick Cronquist, one of the information officers with the Type 2 team of the U.S. Forest Service, said no homes are threatened, and firefighters were hopeful to have the fire contained and out in the next three days.
