Firefighters achieved 100 percent containment of the Black Canyon fire burning in the Pike National Forest east of Jefferson around 7 p.m. Wednesday night.
The fire was pegged at 10 acres, said U.S. Forest Service spokesman Nate Cronquist.
He said two Type 2 teams and the smoke jumpers, firefighters who parachuted into the wilderness to help fight the fire, will work Thursday to mop up hot spots.
