Park County Sheriff Fred Wegener lifted the county’s fire bans on Monday morning after recent rainfall decreased the fire danger.
The U.S. Forest Service lowered its burning restrictions from Stage 2 to Stage 1 on July 11. As of July 15, the Bureau of Land Management hadn’t changed its Stage 2 fire restrictions, put in place on June 27.
The countywide fire ban was put in place on June 14 following persistent dry conditions. But in the past few weeks, Park County has experienced substantial rainfall.
