Sharon Schrage, the executive director of the Conifer-based Mountain Resource Center, resigned in mid-June, and her last day with the organization was Aug. 7. Details in this week's Flume.
She will be greatly missed. What a dedicated woman with a big heart!
The MRC is poised on the cusp of exponential growth in terms of serving the community. They were designated this region's center for assistance with the Affordable Care Act - they've hired a new staff member who's been undergoing hours of training to help assist individuals and businesses with ACA implementation. If you have questions, they are the place to go ask.
They've expanded classes offered for families, job seeking assistance, and so much more. We've got an organization right here in our own backyard that's on its way to becoming a national-level type foundation, in my own humble opinion, with as professionally well-run as it is, and a fantastic vision that's being implemented very effectively.
