“If fishing is a religion, fly fishing is high church,” once said NBC Nightly News anchorman Tom Brokaw.
Events on the river at Boxwood Gulch Ranch in Shawnee on Saturday, Aug. 17, seemed pretty close to high church, if not heaven itself. Project Healing Waters hosted a fly fishing event in which wounded warriors were joined in teams with well-known fishing guides and national celebrities, and those teams moved from fishing site to fishing site or beat to beat along the river.
